This is the moment a drunken vandal who clambered onto a historic tram monument pays the price by slipping off the roof and smashing his face into a metal fence post.
The incident took place in the early hours of 28th July in St. Petersburg, Russia's second largest city, where the so-called "Blockade Tram" memorial stands in honour of the 900-day siege of the city by Nazi forces in WWII.
CCTV and mobile footage show three 32-year-old men drunkenly clambering over the static display, which commemorates wartime public transport.
One of them films while another climbs onto the roof and kicks at parts of the tram.
But the drunken rampage ends badly when one of the men loses his footing and crashes down head-first into a nearby railing, slamming his face against a post.
By the time police arrived shortly after 7am, two floodlights had been ripped out, a plaque had been broken, and the tram’s "Route 12" sign was missing.
All three suspects were arrested later that day at their homes. Police confirmed they were drunk at the time and are now facing criminal charges for desecrating a symbol of military glory.
Officials said the video filmed by one of the suspects is being used as evidence in the case.
