This is the moment a man injures his eye after a spring-loaded arm strength training device snapped back and struck him in the eye while he was exercising next to his two young sons.
The accident happened at a family home in Qiannan, Guizhou Province, China, on 30th July.
Video footage shows the man using the device, which has a metal bar with a powerful spring in the middle that is designed to be bent by hand.
As he releases his grip, the bar rapidly snaps back into its straight position and hits him on the right side of his face.
He immediately clutches his eye, shouting and bending forwards in pain.
The blow caused bleeding to his eyelid and left him with blurred vision.
The man, named Mr Wang, later told local media that such equipment should be used properly to avoid injury.
Netizens who watched the clip online commented on how painful the impact looked, with one saying: "I could feel his pain through the screen."
