This footage purports to show a Russian self-propelled gun firing a precision-guided shell at a Ukrainian drone control point.

The footage was obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) on 3rd June, with the strike said to have taken place in the Dobropillia direction, near the city of Pokrovsk, in Ukraine's eastern Donetsk.

The video reportedly shows the crew of a Msta-S self-propelled howitzer firing on the target before the images cut to a number of explosions, reportedly the Ukrainian positions on the battlefield being hit.

The Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) claimed in a statement: "Servicemen of the crew of a Msta-S self-propelled artillery installation of the 385th Artillery Brigade of the Centre group of forces struck a control point for the unmanned aerial vehicles of AFU [Armed Force of Ukraine] formations using a Krasnopol-M2 high-precision guided artillery shell, in the Dobropillia direction of the special military operation [SMO].

"As a result of aerial reconnaissance carried out by an unmanned aerial vehicle crew, a UAV control point of Ukrainian militants was uncovered, from where strike drones were being directed at the positions of the group's units.

"Having obtained the precise coordinates of the target, the Msta-S crew swiftly deployed the installation into firing position and carried out the fire mission using a 152mm Krasnopol-M2 high-precision guided shell.

"This munition is guided onto its target by a laser beam, which ensures a direct hit with the first shot at distances of up to 25 kilometres. Fire correction and laser illumination of the target were carried out by an Orlan-30 UAV crew positioned in the immediate vicinity of the enemy control point.

"Subsequent monitoring confirmed the complete destruction of the target, with the AFU UAV control point eliminated together with the drone operators and communications equipment.

"After completing the fire mission, the crew promptly camouflaged the gun. Thanks to the coordinated actions of the artillerymen and the use of high-precision munitions, the enemy lost an important element of control over its unmanned aviation, which significantly reduced the effectiveness of AFU strike and reconnaissance UAVs in this direction.

"The Msta-S crews of the Centre group of forces continue to carry out combat missions around the clock, using Krasnopol-M2 high-precision munitions to destroy command posts, UAV control points and other enemy targets in the Dobropillia direction of the SMO."

We have not been able to independently verify the images or the statement.
