This is the moment a baby is thrown from a moving bus and onto the road after slipping from a woman’s arms when the driver brakes suddenly and the child falls through the open middle door.
The incident took place on a bus travelling in Srivilliputhur in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, on Friday, 1st August.
CCTV footage from inside the bus shows a man holding a toddler sitting on the aisle seat while a woman sitting by the window holds a much younger child in her lap near the centre exit.
As the driver brakes sharply, the man stumbles forward down the aisle still clutching the older child, while the woman loses her grip on the baby, who is flung forward and falls headfirst down the steps and out of the open door onto the road.
The video ends with passengers reacting in shock but the bus does not appear to stop immediately.
Reports said the child was taken to hospital and escaped with only minor injuries. The driver has been suspended while an investigation is carried out.
