This is the viral moment a woman slaps a lawyer in the face during a virtual custody hearing.
The incident took place during an online session of the Court of Justice of Goias in Brazil in late July and was later shared on social media on 14th August.
Video footage of the hearing shows the lawyer appearing in the upper right-hand corner of the screen as proceedings take place.
A woman with blonde hair walks into the frame towards him before stepping out of view.
Moments later, she suddenly strikes him in the face.
The lawyer flinches and raises his arm but is clearly hit.
The slap comes as the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Goias is reading its opinion.
After the attack, the lawyer appears to compose himself and continues participating in the hearing.
Local media reported that officials have not confirmed the authenticity of the video or released further details about the case due to missing information such as the case number.
The Brazilian Bar Association’s Goias Section lists a lawyer with the same name as the man in the footage, but no contact details were available.
