This is the moment a lorry driver crashes into an electric bike rider after reportedly slamming into the back of a car stopped at a pedestrian crossing and veering off the road.

The incident took place near the village of Nikolskoye in the Chuvash Republic, Russia, at around 4:50pm on 30th July.

Traffic police said a man aged 60 driving a DAF lorry with a trailer failed to keep a safe distance and hit a VAZ-2111 car that had stopped to allow a pedestrian to cross the road.

The lorry then ran over the 38-year-old male cyclist who was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Footage from a dashcam shows the moment the lorry smashes into the cyclist after it crashed into the car.

Traffic inspectors carried out procedural measures at the scene and an investigation has been opened to determine all the circumstances.
