This is the moment armed soldiers raid the home of a man accused by Russian authorities of spying for Ukraine and drag him out of bed to be taken to prison.

The arrest took place in Sevastopol in Russian-annexed Crimea and was announced by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) on 1st August.

According to the FSB, the 47-year-old man was detained on suspicion of treason for allegedly transmitting the coordinates and operational details of Russian air defence installations to Ukrainian forces.

The agency claimed he had contacted a member of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' special operations via a Telegram channel used to collect intelligence.

He allegedly admitted to the accusations after his arrest, and was quoted as saying: "I woke up at night from bright flashes of light and loud noises. I went out onto the balcony, knowing and seeing that there was an air defence system there.

"I took out my phone and recorded a video, then sent the video to a Telegram channel. Someone messaged me asking what was going on, what it was, back and forth. He asked me to take a photo.

"I found a convenient spot to take the picture and photographed the equipment during the day, in daylight.

"After that, from time to time, when I was going to or from work or running errands, if I saw that the system was still in that spot, I would just send a text message saying they were still there."

The footage shows the man being detained, and the FSB said he will be charged with treason, which carries a potential life sentence under Russian law.
