A morning ride on an e-scooter ended in disaster when two riders slammed into a pole and were hurled to the pavement in a crash caught on camera.
The accident took place in the Frunzensky district of St. Petersburg, Russia, on the morning of 31st July.
Footage shows a man and woman riding the same scooter down a pavement when they veer toward the kerb and plough straight into a streetlight pole.
The pair are thrown off by the force of the impact, with the man at the back flipping over the woman and smashing headfirst into the ground.
Onlookers rush to the scene to help the dazed pair, both of whom appear to have suffered injuries in the fall.
According to reports, emergency services were called and both riders were taken to hospital by ambulance.
The video has since gone viral in Russia, where social media users shared jokes about the incident. One popular comment claimed police had “interrogated the pole and found it not guilty.”
