A grieving TV presenter has posted a heartbreaking tribute to his fiancee after revealing she was killed in a motorbike ride accident just two months before their wedding and honeymoon planned for Japan.
Luana de Paula, who had been engaged to Record TV host Marcus Marinho for 11 years, was riding as a passenger on a motorcycle booked through an app-based ride service when the accident happened in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Sunday, 3rd August.
She was hospitalised for two days but died from her injuries on Tuesday, 5th August.
Marinho, who presents the morning show RJ no Ar, confirmed the news on social media on Wednesday (6th) and shared a photo tribute along with a farewell message to his partner.
He wrote: "Hi, Mo... The last 11 years have been incredible with you. We fell, got up, cried... Laughed together... Overcame so much... And it's your smile and the good times that I will cherish.
"The wedding was already scheduled for October. All that was left was to send out the invitations...
"The trip to Japan was being planned... It was our dream...
"But a reckless person in traffic took you away from me. For now, rest in the Father’s arms.
"One day, we'll meet again. For sure. Thank you for everything. It was wonderful! I love you. And I'm always with you!"
The post included images of the couple travelling together, posing next to waterfalls, at the beach, and in everyday moments throughout their 11-year relationship.
Friends and colleagues responded with messages of condolence and support.
No further details have been released about the circumstances of the crash, and no other individuals have been identified or held responsible at this stage.
