A gondola capsized in Venice after tourists rocked the boat too much while taking selfies, sending the gondolier and his passengers into the water.
The accident happened on Sunday morning, 24th August, in the Rio dei Greci canal in the Castello district of the historic lagoon city.
Video footage shows the aftermath of the capsize as two young women climb up a grate to reach people holding out their hands to help while other passengers cling to moored boats to pull themselves to safety.
The gondolier is also in the water as soaking tourists are dragged out by bystanders.
Fortunately no one was injured in the incident. The accident occurred along a very narrow stretch of water that left little space to manoeuvre.
The video quickly went viral on social media after being shared on the Facebook page "Venice is not Disneyland".
