This is the moment a thief who committed 14 robberies in a day is shot when his luck finally runs out as he tries to mug a police officer inside a restaurant.
The shooting took place in the city of Osasco, in the state of Sao Paulo, in Brazil, on 16th October.
Security camera footage shows three men standing beside a sofa taking a selfie when a deliveryman walks in, appears to ask a question, and briefly leaves.
He then pulls a gun from his bag and opens fire.
One of the customers, who is a civil police officer, immediately reacts and returns fire.
The officer’s stepson is hit in the leg and collapses onto the sofa.
The suspect, identified as Igor Onorato, was hit four times and remained lying on the floor awaiting help.
He was later arrested and found to be wearing a bulletproof vest, which prevented serious injury.
Outside, an accomplice escaped on a motorcycle and has not yet been found.
Police said Igor Onorato had already carried out 14 other robberies earlier that same day, mostly stealing gold chains and rings from victims in several neighbourhoods of Sao Paulo before reaching Osasco.
Recovered items included 14 rings, chains, bracelets, a watch and cash.
According to investigators, the motorcycle he used was stolen on 9th October and had a tampered licence plate.
