This is the real-life '50 First Dates' moment a man remembers part of his past while listening to a Linkin Park song at a US concert with his wife after losing his memory in a car accident.
The movie-like romance involves Brazilian-national Raphael Campos, 35, who has fallen for his wife all over again after losing his memory.
Tragedy struck when Raphael was walking his dogs in Norwood, in the US state of Massachusetts, where he and his wife have been living for 12 years, and was hit by a car in November 2022.
He survived, but suffered multiple fractures, brain injuries and lost all his memories from the past two decades.
He even forgot his wife, Jessica de Souza, and assumed she was just his nurse when he saw her beside his hospital bed for the first time.
But as she cared for him during months of gruelling recovery, Raphael began seeing her in a new light.
He said he had never really believed she was his partner saying: "I thought she was far too beautiful to be my wife."
Eventually, he fell in love with her all over again.
But the painful road back to love was not all Hollywood romance: the crash left Raphael with lasting disabilities that needed to be overcome, including partial vision loss, paralysis on his right side, and aphasia, which makes it hard to communicate or understand emotions.
It makes it difficult to drive or work, and short-term memory loss means he forgets the stages of video games he plays daily.
Despite the challenges, the couple now share a quiet life in Norwood with their dogs.
Jessica works as a dog groomer, while Raphael keeps to a strict routine to help him on the road to recovery.
Speaking of rebuilding his life that included having to wear a bracelet with his name and address in case he got lost he said: “She's more than beautiful – she's incredibly kind-hearted."
For Jessica, choosing to "love him again" was the only option.
She said: "I've always been very patient, and at the start I noticed changes in his personality.
"Sometimes I'd go up to him and say: look, Rapha, let me show you this photo – don’t you remember this?
"Either he'd cry, or he'd get angry and not want to see it. Now I understand – it was the frustration of trying to remember something and not being able to.
"It wasn't fair on me or on him to keep comparing the man he is now with who he was before. It was my choice to stay, to love him again."
And her love and support has, incredibly, helped Raphael to start getting his memories back.
One emotional clip shows him crying as he is remembering the lyrics to 'In the end' by Linkin Park while Jessica hugs him during a recent concert.
Their story is being compared to the popular rom-com '50 First Dates', where Drew Barrymore's character Lucy slowly starts to remember her past life with the help of Henry, played by Adam Sandler, after a car accident caused her to forget everything.
In the movie, Lucy is able to retain some of her old memories by repeating the lyrics to a song she listened to when meeting Henry.
