This is the moment a drunk Lada driver without a licence tries to flee from police before veering off the road and overturning.
The incident took place in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, near the village of Karatuzskoye, and the video was released by the regional State Traffic Inspection on 16th October.
Officers on patrol in Karatuzskoye spotted a VAZ-2106 whose driver ignored their signal to stop and attempted to escape.
During the pursuit, the video shows how the unnamed man behind the wheel loses control of the Lada while driving along the road, veering into the opposite lane and back, before swerving off the road and overturning.
The 48-year-old driver, a local resident without a driving licence, suffered injuries, while his passenger did not require medical attention.
Police said the man showed signs of intoxication, and a breathalyser test indicated a blood alcohol level of 1.276 milligrams per litre.
He told officers that he and his friend had been drinking earlier that morning and decided to drive to a petrol station.
His friend reportedly offered him the chance to drive his Lada, but when they encountered the police patrol, the driver panicked and tried to flee.
The State Traffic Inspection drew up administrative reports against the driver for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, driving without a licence, ignoring lawful police demands to stop, lacking registration documents and insurance, and crossing into the oncoming lane.
An administrative report was also issued to the car’s owner, who was sitting in the passenger seat, for allowing an intoxicated person to drive and for failing to wear a seatbelt.
