Tourists at a scenic observation tower at a wildlife reserve got an unforgettable glimpse of nature when a mother bear lay down to nurse her three cubs just metres away.
The rare scene was filmed in the Kronotsky Nature Reserve, a protected area on Russia’s far eastern Kamchatka Peninsula, and was shared by state inspector Liana Varavskaya on Tuesday, 5th August.
Footage shows the bear lying down to feed her cubs while remaining alert and looking around to assess the situation.
She keeps her head up, scanning the area and protecting her young as they feed.
Varavskaya said all tourists hope to witness a nursing bear, but the group that day was especially fortunate as the animal settled almost directly beneath their observation point.
The inspector said the sighting was a highlight for the visitors.
