HOLIDAY TRAGEDY – Two Dead As Family From England Crashes Car While Travelling In Turkey

A family on holiday from England had an accident in Turkey that left a mother and grandmother dead and three other relatives injured.
The crash happened on the Aksaray-Ankara highway in central Turkey at around 7:30pm on 17th August.
The car had British registration plates and was driven by Sakir Karagandere, 49, who had returned to his hometown of Aksaray from England on holiday.
His wife Done Karagandere, 49, their daughter Sema, 14, their son Murat, 8, and his 95-year-old mother Sultan were also in the vehicle.
The car lost control, crashed into the central reservation and overturned.
Police, gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched after a report of the crash.
Sultan reportedly died at the scene.
The four injured family members were taken by ambulance to Aksaray Training and Research Hospital.
Doctors tried to save Done but she later died at the hospital.
Sakir and his two children are continuing to receive treatment.
It was reported that the family had travelled to the village of Guve to visit Done's father.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
