This is the moment a massive tree uprooted and fell on a 50-year-old man and his daughter while they rode a motorcycle during heavy rain.
The incident happened in Kalkaji, South Delhi, India, at around 9:50am on Thursday, 14th August.
CCTV footage shows the huge tree suddenly toppling onto slow-moving traffic through waterlogged streets.
The motorcycle carrying Sudhir Kumar, 50, and his daughter Priya, 22, was crushed beneath it.
Police said they went to the scene immediately and began rescue operations.
A JCB machine was brought in to lift the tree.
Both victims were freed and taken by ambulance to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Trauma Centre.
Sudhir, who worked as a caretaker at the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board night shelter in Old Delhi, later died from his injuries.
Priya remains in hospital in a critical condition.
The fallen tree was a mature neem tree (Azadirachta indica), a species common in India that can grow up to 130 feet tall.
A car was also hit by the tree but the driver escaped unharmed.
Authorities secured the area and managed traffic to prevent further disruption.
A hydraulic crane finally removed the tree while municipal teams inspected other large trees in the area.
Delhi was hit by heavy rain all morning, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a red alert for more downpours.
Waterlogging and traffic jams were reported across the city.
