This is the moment a passenger stabbed on a commuter train fights back against his attacker with a series of kicks and head butts.
The attack happened on the Novosibirsk–Bolotnoye train in the Novosibirsk region, Russia, on 25th July 2024, and involved two men from a Roma group who had boarded together with about 30 others.
Video released by the Regional Prosecutor’s Office on 11th August shows the man being stabbed several times in the upper body at close range.
But he refuses to back away and lunges at the knifeman, grabbing at the weapon and headbutting his opponent several times.
Climbing onto the seats, he then launches a kick before the pair crash down onto the chairs.
A crowd of passengers believed to be part of the group try to separate them as the fight continues.
From the middle of the struggling group, the victim emerges with blood streaming from his head and body before being led away.
Prosecutors said passengers managed to take the knife from the attacker, stopping the assault.
The Bolotninsky District Court has now found the 36-year-old attacker guilty of attempted murder and sentenced him to seven years in a maximum-security penal colony.
