A blonde US arts blogger has been found dead inside a luxury hotel room in Brazil.
The body of 40-year-old Hilde Lynn Helphenstein was discovered in a room at the Rosewood Sao Paulo hotel in central Sao Paulo, Brazil, on 31st May, an area in the city’s downtown district.
Hilde Lynn Helphenstein was an American artist and influencer known online under the pseudonym Jerry Gogosian.
She had more than 150,000 followers on Instagram, where she published satirical content about the art world and cultural trends.
Hotel staff and emergency services found her after being alerted to her condition inside the room.
Inside the accommodation, officers reported a bottle of vodka and a cup on the floor.
Several tablets were also found on the bed near where the body was located.
A man who identified himself as her plastic surgeon later arrived at the hotel after being unable to reach her by phone.
He told staff that Helphenstein had been in Brazil for around three weeks and had undergone a cosmetic procedure during her stay.
The same man also claimed she had a history of drug use and had previously been taken to a medical facility following a suspected overdose.
Hotel employees entered the room after repeated attempts to contact her went unanswered.
The Samu emergency service was called and confirmed her death at the scene.
Police records state the case has been registered as a suspicious death by the 78th Police District in Jardins.
Investigators have requested forensic analysis from both the Institute of Criminalistics and the Medical Legal Institute.
It was also revealed that a complaint had been made at the hotel the previous night involving Helphenstein and friends in one of the on-site restaurants.
According to the police report, they were seen intoxicated and behaving in an unruly manner, including alleged public sexualised behaviour that caused discomfort to other guests.
The Rosewood Sao Paulo confirmed the death in a statement and said it was cooperating fully with authorities.
The hotel added that it would not comment further out of respect for the guest and the ongoing investigation.
