This is the moment a Brazilian influencer films mysterious flashing lights which he believes was a UFO hovering above a forest near his remote farmhouse.
The alleged sighting took place in the rural area of Campo Largo in the countryside west of the southern city of Curitiba, on 31st May.
Footage recorded by 31-year-old influencer Mayk Leao shows blinking lights in the distance above a wooded area during the night.
The glowing object appears to hover above the trees while unusual sounds can be heard during some of the recordings shared online.
Mayk said he had struggled to sleep since the incident and claimed he had gone two days without rest after filming the lights near the property where he lives alone.
The influencer told Brazilian media he first became alarmed after noticing unusual behaviour from animals on his land earlier that day.
Mayk, who cares for around 280 rescued animals at the rural property and has more than 1.2 million Instagram followers, said he initially believed a wild animal could be nearby and went outside carrying a bow and arrows.
He later discovered a damaged electric fence near a forested area and claimed he heard metallic sounds and loud cracking noises coming from the woods.
The blogger said he returned home before later spotting flashing lights above trees near a river around three kilometres from his house.
Mayk described the experience as both frightening and beautiful and said he believed he had witnessed technology “not from here”.
He told local media: "I want to make this clear, it wasn’t on the ground, and it wasn’t… When it first appeared, it was hovering among the trees near the river. When I finally came back inside, it felt like a shock of reality.
"Wow, I was standing in front of something that wasn’t from here. I believe it was a higher intelligence. But it was only through the process that I began to understand it."
The influencer also rejected online claims suggesting the lights could have been drones or part of a publicity stunt linked to a science-fiction film.
He said he planned to file a police report in order to formally document the alleged sighting, adding that he had received threatening messages online telling him to remove the videos.
The Brazilian Air Force said through the Department of Airspace Control that no unidentified objects had been detected by defence radar systems or reported by nearby airports on 31st May.
Officials added that airspace operations in the region had taken place normally that day.
Investigators from MUFON Brazil, an organisation that studies anomalous aerial phenomena, said the footage would need further analysis before any conclusions could be reached.
