CRASH LANDING – Woman Pilot Trainee Pronounced Dead At Scene

A beautiful young trainee pilot lost her life when her training aircraft crashed into a cornfield during a solo flight.

The accident happened in the Torbali district in Izmir Province, western Turkey, on the morning of 3rd September.

Berfu Hatipoglu had taken off in a Cessna 172 from Selcuk Efes Airport shortly after 9am for a routine training exercise.

Minutes later the plane came down in a cornfield, where villagers quickly gathered.

Images show emergency teams working among the wreckage while locals stand nearby.

Rescue workers carried medical equipment into the field, but 31-year-old Berfu was pronounced dead at the site.

Berfu was born in 1994 and lived in Izmir.

She studied at Dokuz Eylul University while working part-time as a flight attendant.

She often posted about her passion for flying and her dream of becoming a commercial airline pilot.

She had been training at the Turkish Aeronautical Association Flight Academy to gain her pilot’s licence and build her aviation career.

The Izmir Governor's Office confirmed her death in a written statement and said that investigators were examining the wreckage.

The Accident Investigation and Investigation Board has launched an inquiry into the cause of the crash.

Her death has been noted by aviation organisations including the Turkish Aeronautical Association, which shared condolences online.
