This is the moment three towering waterspouts appear at the same time over a lake after a powerful storm.
The rare phenomenon was filmed at Lake Ladoga, one of the world's largest freshwater lakes, located in the Leningrad Region of north-western Russia, on 12th August.
In the footage, three vast columns of swirling spray rise from the lake’s surface into the clouds as waves crash in the foreground.
Eyewitnesses said the waterspouts emerged shortly after a strong storm passed over the lake, bringing large hail to the shore.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations had earlier warned residents of St. Petersburg and surrounding areas about approaching showers and thunderstorms.
Locals said it was not the first time they had seen waterspouts over the lake this month.
Forecasters said the next days should see no precipitation and temperatures of up to 25 degrees Celsius.
