This is the moment a dad slips and falls as he runs after his son who dashes into the road and is almost run over by a lorry.
The drama happened on a busy road in Redencao, in the state of Para, Brazil, on the afternoon of 14th August.
Video shows the youngster suddenly breaking away and running into the path of a huge lorry as it thunders past.
The dad turns and sprints after him but slips and falls to the ground before he can reach his son.
The boy misses being struck by just inches as the lorry speeds by.
The father then scrambles up, rushes to the child and pulls him back onto the kerb.
Authorities have urged extra care when children are near roads with heavy traffic.
