This is the moment a man pulls a gun and grabs a woman by the neck at a residents’ meeting outside a block of flats before being slapped by a pensioner and arrested by police.

The dramatic scenes unfolded during a housing meeting about an issue with the hot water in Tyumen, Russia, on Tuesday evening, 5th August.

Footage shows the man throwing papers from his car, apparently upset, before storming back towards the group and grabbing a woman from the management company, putting a pistol to her head.

As others watch in shock, a second older woman steps forward and slaps the man in the face, allowing the hostage to break free.

Police later arrived at the scene and detained the gunman without further incident.

Officials confirmed that the man was only a tenant in the building and that he was taken into custody for questioning about the incident and the legality of the firearm.
