A convicted killer released on parole after marrying behind bars shot his bride dead just weeks later in front of their horrified seven-year-old son.
Drugs gang enforcer Nicolas Angel Castro Oviedo, 30, had been imprisoned in La Plata, Argentina, after being found guilty of two homicides and firearms offences.
He married his 33-year-old partner Yesica Noelia Duarte Martinez, a convicted drugs trafficker, at a prison ceremony two months ago, on 30th May.
After the wedding Oviedo was allowed to serve the rest of his sentence under house arrest alongside his new wife.
Just two days after leaving jail on 27th June Oviedo took to Facebook to post a loving tribute to Martinez.
He said: "Well, here we are. This is what we waited for. How much I love you and how much I wanted to be like this, together, in this great moment.
"We were always able to do everything we wanted, and we will be able to do it for many lifetimes together. I love you, you are the love of my life."
But just a month later it ended in a bloodbath on 27th July when Oviedo shot Martinez dead and then turned the gun on himself.
Astonishingly he survived when the bullet fired from under his chin missed his brain and passed out through an eye.
He was rushed to the city's Mario Larrain Hospital where he remains in intensive care under police guard.
Martinez was found in the couple's backyard with two 9mm bullet wounds to her back and chest.
Oviedo's mother had tried to blame the shooting on a robbery, allegedly ransacking the home and hiding the murder weapon.
But the couple's son told police the horrific truth after sharing what he saw with one of his sisters.
He said the couple, who were both wearing ankle tags and unable to leave the house, had been arguing violently before the shooting.
Neighbours, who had called police, told local media the couple fought frequently and Oviedo often physically abused Martinez.
The victim also leaves behind twin children, who shared their 14th birthday on the same day as the shooting, and a 17-year-old girl.
Oviedo is expected to face a murder charge when he recovers.
