This is the moment an SUV is crushed between two lorries after one braked suddenly and the other failed to stop in time.
The incident took place in Gorakhpur, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, on the afternoon of 4th August and was captured on CCTV.
Ritesh Singh, a resident of the Karmaura area, was travelling home with his driver Dinbandhu in a Mahindra Bolero when they became trapped between two moving trailers.
Video footage shows the Bolero travelling behind a trailer which then comes to a halt, prompting the SUV to stop as well.
Moments later, another trailer slams into the rear of the Bolero, crushing the vehicle between the two lorries.
Despite the horrifying crash, both the passenger and the driver managed to survive. Local residents rushed to the scene and broke open the damaged vehicle to rescue them.
Police have since launched an investigation and confirmed that one of the trailers was seized and its driver arrested, while efforts are ongoing to locate the second lorry involved.
