This is the horrifying moment a 20-month-old toddler dies as he is sent flying 100 feet by a speeding car while he plays a game of street football with his uncle.
Heartbreaking street CCTV footage from Vitoria da Conquista, eastern Brazil, on 28th July shows the uncle and an older child enjoying an innocent kickabout in the road.
But when excited toddler Riquelme Novais Cerqueira runs out to join in, he is hit by a car racing down the street at high speed.
The hard-to watch footage shows the tot as he is sent flying down the tarmac in a cloud of dust as he slams to a shattering halt beside a parked car.
Shockingly the driver does not even slow down and tears away from the crash as little Riquelme's family come rushing out of their homes onto the street.
One man leaps onto a motorbike as if to give chase as the footage comes to an end.
Local media reports say Riquelme died instantly.
His heartbroken dad Leandro Cerqueira said: "I was inside the house, heard the noise, and went to get my son.
"I took him to the hospital, already dead."
The 24-year-old driver, who has not been named, later turned himself in to police and was held in custody.
He told police he had not seen the tot before hitting him and then fled because he feared he would be attacked by the boy's family.
The driver admitted speeding and told police he had been in a hurry to return a car he had borrowed from a friend.
A police investigation is ongoing.
