KILLER DAD – Riot Cop Father Shoots Sleeping Wife And Kids Then Turns Gun On Himself

A police officer killed his wife and two young children by shooting them in the head while they slept with his police gun before turning the weapon on himself.

The incident took place in Merkezefendi, in the province of Denizli, Turkey, on the morning of 1st August.

Riot police officer Coskun Soylemez, 35, reportedly used his service pistol to kill his wife Nazli Soylemez, 31, and their children Yagiz, 7, and Duru, 2, before shooting himself in the head with the same weapon.

Neighbours in a four-storey apartment building alerted emergency services shortly before 7am after hearing gunfire from the ground-floor flat.

Soylemez, who was stationed with the Riot Police Branch in Sirnak’s Cizre district, had arrived three days earlier to stay with his family at the home of his mother-in-law, Havva Kovan, while on annual leave.

His mother-in-law reportedly ran out of the flat screaming for help after hearing the shots.

Paramedics confirmed the three victims were dead at the scene.

Soylemez, who was still alive, died on the way to Denizli State Hospital.

All four bodies were taken to the morgue of the Denizli Regional Directorate of the Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsies.

It was reported that Soylemez and his wife had married in 2017, and he was allegedly facing debts of around TRY 7 million (GBP 130,000) from a failed property business.

Authorities are investigating the killings.
