This is the moment a superyacht burns out of control in an area known as a playground of the super-rich in Spanish waters before sinking.
The fire broke out at around 10:30am on Monday, 12th August, off the Balearic island of Formentera when the crew detected smoke inside the 28-metre (91-foot) vessel.
Maritime rescuers later identified it as the Da Vinci in an official post on X.
Video shows thick black plumes billowing high into the sky above the Mediterranean as flames rip through the yacht.
The seven crew members were evacuated to shore in good condition by the Maritime Rescue vessel Naos.
The Guardamar Concepcion Arenal and Formentera firefighters also raced to the scene, with the Guardamar remaining in the area to clear debris after the sinking.
Crew had tried to fight the fire themselves and had deployed unactivated life rafts on the bow of the yacht as a precaution.
A ferry travelling nearby diverted towards the burning vessel to assist the stricken yacht, but continued its journey once rescue boats arrived from Ibiza.
In recent years, Formentera has become a benchmark for high-end nautical tourism, attracting some of the world’s most exclusive yachts every summer to its turquoise waters and calm island setting. Many are owned by billionaires, tech entrepreneurs, and sports and film stars seeking luxury, privacy, and seclusion.
According to reports, the Da Vinci is an Astondoa motor yacht, built as part of the 95 GLX series, built between 1997 and 2004.
It can accommodate 10 guests and features a flybridge with a wet bar, barbecue and dining table.
Maritime Rescue said there were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
