A four-year-old boy narrowly escaped being crushed when a wall suddenly collapsed just as he stepped out of a restaurant where he was having lunch with his grandmother.
The accident happened in the San Francisco neighbourhood of Bucaramanga, Colombia, on 16th August.
CCTV footage shows the child in a green shirt running forward on the pavement as the wall behind him collapses into a huge cloud of dust, with bricks and cables crashing onto the ground just a step away.
The boy had been having lunch inside the restaurant with his grandmother and was leaving the building when his mother arrived to collect him.
Seconds later, the wall of an adjoining property gave way and fell into the street.
Witnesses described hearing a deafening crash and said they first thought a vehicle had slammed into the restaurant.
The child’s grandmother told local media she feared her grandson had been buried under the rubble when she could not see him immediately after the collapse.
She said she later discovered the boy was already safe with his mother outside.
Local authorities said recent heavy rainfall in the city is believed to have caused the wall's sudden collapse.
The video has been widely shared on social media, with viewers stunned at how close the child came to being buried under the rubble.
