This is the moment a driver disarms a would-be robber and shoots him with his own gun as the bungling crook flees on foot.
The incident happened on an avenue in Brooklin, an upscale area in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo, on the afternoon of Tuesday, 12th August.
Footage shows the motorcycle pulling up alongside the car in stationary traffic and the suspect announcing the robbery.
The video captures the driver seizing the moment when the assailant is distracted, taking the gun, and firing at least three times.
The motorcyclist drops the bike in the middle of the avenue and runs away on foot.
According to the Military Police, the motorcycle had been stolen.
They confirmed the driver was not a police officer and was travelling with his sister.
Police advised that reacting to robberies is not recommended because of the high risk to victims.
The case was forwarded to the 27th Police District in Campo Belo.
The robber has not yet been located.
