This is the moment a lorry loaded with paint and chemicals continues travelling for five miles while engulfed in flames after its brakes failed.
The incident happened on the Samsun–Ankara highway in the Ilkadim district of Samsun, Turkey, on 16th August.
The lorry was driven by Azerbaijani national Jamaladdin Mamadov, who had set out from Kocaeli to transport chemicals and paint to Azerbaijan.
Footage recorded by other drivers and diners at a roadside restaurant shows the trailer ablaze as the vehicle barrels down the highway, sending flames and smoke into the night sky while panicked voices are heard in the background.
The blaze began in the brake pads and spread to the cargo on the trailer.
Burning chemicals and paint spilled onto the road and continued to burn.
As the uncontrollable lorry continued moving it collided with a car, driven by Cetin Yildirim, and a light commercial vehicle, driven by Bora Ulu, both travelling in the same direction.
Paint burning on the trailer set the other truck alight.
Driver Cetin was injured in the crash and was taken to Samsun Training and Research Hospital.
Mamadov continued for about eight kilometres (4.9 miles) before the lorry hit the roadside barriers and came to a stop.
He managed to escape by himself but suffered minor injuries.
The fire spread to nearby trees.
Fire crews extinguished the flames in the vehicles and the wooded area.
Traffic on the Samsun–Ankara highway was halted for about two hours.
It was later restored in a controlled manner.
A 10-kilometre-long queue of vehicles built up on the road.
