This is the moment a lorry is filmed transporting an entire wooden house without an escort along a busy road in a scene that has sparked outrage and triggered a traffic safety investigation.
The footage, recorded in south-western Parana, Brazil, on 2nd August, shows the oversized structure being hauled without the legally required escort vehicle.
A person can be seen standing on the lorry's side step, holding onto the cabin as the vehicle moves, while another driver appears to film the bizarre scene using a mobile phone.
Officials from the Francisco Beltrao Highway Department confirmed the move was carried out without an escort, which is mandatory for cargo of this size, regardless of whether special transit authorisation had been granted.
The video also shows a motorist using a mobile phone while driving, a practice classified as a very serious offence under the Brazilian Traffic Code.
Under current laws, moving oversized structures like entire houses requires a Special Transit Authorisation (AET), which is issued by the Department of Highways in Parana.
The AET process involves submitting vehicle and driver documentation, and may require technical reports to ensure no impact on trees, power lines or public infrastructure along the route.
Authorities have not yet identified the lorry driver or the company responsible for the move.
