A knife-wielding robber seen here stealing a bag containing more than GBP 15,000 from a 12-year-old boy had to flee on foot after driving into a flooded street.
The attack happened in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk, Russia, on 8th August.
According to police, the robber confronted the boy and took a bag containing valuables before fleeing the scene.
Local media reported that the teenager’s father had withdrawn RUB 1.7 million (GBP 15,900) from an ATM inside a grocery store before sending his son home alone with the money.
Video footage shows a man following the boy after he leaves the store.
Witnesses said the attacker escaped in a car but ran into trouble when the vehicle became stuck in deep water caused by heavy flooding in the city after recent storms.
The man is then seen in separate footage abandoning the car and running away on foot.
Police confirmed the suspect is still on the run.
