A beautiful escort who died in a luxury motel suite hours after a paid encounter with a client was found fully clothed and floating in the pool when staff forced open the door after failing to reach her.
The incident took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and her body was discovered on the night of Thursday, 31st July.
Paloma Granada, 30, had checked into suite number 7 at Motel Asturias at around 10:20pm the night before, arriving with 37-year-old systems analyst Danilo Andrade Amado in a Mercedes Benz A 250 Turbo Sport.
According to investigators, Danilo had arranged to pay BRL 500 (GBP 68) for a meeting with Paloma, and after about an hour he checked out alone.
Reception staff confirmed her consent for him to leave when contacted by phone.
Paloma remained in the suite, and the next day, after multiple unanswered calls, staff opened the door with a spare key and found her floating face-down in the suite’s private pool.
They pulled her out and attempted to revive her, but she had no pulse.
Firefighters were called and confirmed her death at the scene.
Inside the room, officers found two used wine glasses, an empty wine bottle, and additional consumed alcoholic beverages including beer, Amarula, and Liqueur 43.
There were also stains on the bed sheets resembling wine or possibly blood.
While police were still at the scene gathering evidence, Danilo returned to the motel accompanied by another woman.
He was taken to the 14th Police District (Pinheiros) to give a statement and told investigators he had left Paloma alive the night before and only learned of her death when contacted.
He was released after questioning.
No signs of violence were found on the body.
The Civil Police have registered the case as a suspicious death and are awaiting the results of toxicological, sexological, and subungual examinations to determine the cause.
