This footage shows a pit bull viciously attacking a pair of mums and their two daughters while they were waiting for the school bus.
The attack took place in the city of Iguaracy, in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco on the morning of 28th July.
CCTV footage of the scene shows one of the mums walking up to the other standing on the pavement and starting to chat.
Suddenly, the dog, which could be seen sniffing some shrubbery across the street, notices the two women and children and heads over.
It begins attacking the two mums and the two young children with them quickly screaming and frantically trying to stop the attack.
But one of the mums falls over while trying to shield her child, and the dog bites her leg.
The screams raise the alarm with a biker, a motorist, and the biker's passenger quickly arriving on the scene and pry the dog away from the women, holding it until the footage ends.
The dog had reportedly escaped from its owner's house and he was looking for it when it attacked the women and kids.
The husband of the woman who managed to escape the attack, Bruno Lopes, 38, said that the pit bull was seized by the city and will undergo tests.
He said: "The city staff caught it, even ran tests on it and everything. And from what we've heard, it'll be kept under observation, including to check for rabies and everything else."
The owner of the dog, who realised a short while later that it had escaped, reportedly arrived when the dog was being restrained by the rescuers.
The two children were reportedly not physically harmed, but one of the women was treated for leg injuries.
