A mother who bought a motorcycle for her 14-year-old son to ride is facing prosecution after he was involved in a crash that left him badly injured.
The accident happened on the Orenburg-Belyaevka highway in the Belyaevsky District, Orenburg Region, Russia, on 2nd August.
Video footage shows the teenager riding an Enduro motorcycle along a secondary road before pulling into the path of a Skoda Octavia travelling on the main highway.
The Skoda strikes the motorcycle side-on, and the force of the impact sends the teenager sprawling onto the road.
Emergency services attended the scene and took the boy to hospital, where he was treated for multiple injuries.
Police said the teenager had failed to give way before the collision.
An administrative case was opened under Article 12.24 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation for violation of traffic rules resulting in minor or moderate harm.
An administrative protocol was also drawn up against the boy’s mother for failing to fulfil her parental responsibilities.
