A plane passenger who saw the opportunity to grab a gold watch while going through airport security was caught on CCTV and arrested on her way home.
The incident happened at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg, Russia, on 12th August.
CCTV footage shows the 37-year-old woman collecting her luggage from the Introscope belt when she spots the gold watch in a container.
She picks it up and places it among her belongings before walking away.
Police said the watch, worth about RUB 35,000 (GBP 320), belonged to a 58-year-old passenger on a St. Petersburg to Istanbul flight.
The victim had removed it at the pre-flight security check to pass through the metal detector.
The suspect then boarded her own flight from St. Petersburg to Sochi.
She was identified and detained by transport police after returning from the Black Sea coast.
The watch has been recovered and will be returned to its owner.
A criminal case has been opened against the woman for theft, which carries a maximum penalty of two years in prison.
She has been placed under a procedural obligation to appear when required.
