This is the moment a twin was born with the amniotic sac still intact in a rare en caul delivery.
The remarkable event happened at the Santa Casa de Misericordia hospital in Anapolis, Brazil.
During the birth, the second of the twins named Maria, was delivered still inside the transparent membrane in a scene described by medics as moving and extremely rare.
Video of the birth shows the baby curled up inside the sac as doctors gently remove her from her mother's womb before carefully puncturing the membrane and lifting the newborn into the world.
The father of the girls, identified only as Railton, praised the medical team for their work and thanked God for allowing him to witness the once-in-a-lifetime moment.
Social media users also reacted with emotion and praise after the hospital shared the video online on 23rd July.
Instagram user '@alvarina_miranda23' commented: “What a blessing, two precious jewels at the same time. God bless you with good health, congratulations dad, mom and the whole family.”
While '@estetica_andreia.caixeta' said: "My God... The most beautiful and blessed thing!!! Congratulations to the whole team and the parents... and lots of health to these beautiful babies!!!"
And '@andreiaadra' wrote: "They arrived in the best hands."
