This is the moment an armed robber on a bike opens fire on a busy street at the driver of a car who fled a hold-up at a traffic light with one of the bullets striking an innocent bus passenger.
The incident took place in the San Bosco area of Cali, Colombia, on 14th October.
The footage shows a man and a woman on a motorcycle next to a white car stopped at traffic lights.
They can be seen trying to rob the motorist, but when the driver refuses to hand over his belongings and speeds off, the man fires several shots at the vehicle before the armed pair flee through the junction on the motorcycle.
The police reportedly chased the suspects but they escaped.
A stray bullet from the attempted robbery hits a passenger on a public transport bus in the leg.
A spokesperson for the public bus service said: “We received a report of an injured person who is currently being treated at the HUV. A stray bullet from that attempted robbery grazed the feet of a user who was on a bus.”
Cali’s Metropolitan Police says its officers have launched an immediate search operation to identify and arrest those involved.
Colonel Andres Arias Buitrago, commander of the city’s Citizen Security Operations, said: “In the incident that took place in the centre of Cali, during an attempted robbery, one person was injured on the public transport system and is being treated in a medical centre.
"We have deployed a citywide lockdown plan, and our investigation division is carrying out urgent actions to identify and prosecute these criminals.”
The city’s Security Secretary, Jairo Garcia, has announced a reward of COP 10 million (GBP 1,930) for information leading to the capture of the pair.
He said: “Following the incident, the city administration has determined a reward of up to COP 10 million for any information that helps identify and arrest those responsible. The injured person is being treated at the Hospital Universitario del Valle. All available resources are being used to find and capture the perpetrators of this robbery.”
Police say the motorcycle involved, with registration XMJ 65A, has records of fines dating from March to October 2018 amounting to COP 3,847,263 (GBP 743).
