This is the moment an Italian senior manager films himself on his mobile phone driving a Porsche Cayenne at over 160 mph and boasted how it was legal in Germany, not realising that filming with one hand at that speed was illegal.
The video, posted on the social media accounts of Vittorio Codeluppi, president of the Societa Acqua Lodigiana water company in Lodi, Italy, was geotagged in Overath, Germany, and emerged on Saturday, 23rd August.
The footage shows the view from the driver's seat as the speedometer climbs far above 250 kph.
The clip also shows that the car is being filmed directly from the steering wheel area, with the driver apparently holding a phone while the vehicle is in motion.
Codeluppi, who was recently appointed by the Democratic Party council, has since removed the video from his accounts.
Several directors of the company have asked him to resign following the outcry.
The Lega Salvini Premier party in Lodi said the video "shows a high-powered car, likely attributable to SAL president Codeluppi, while travelling on a motorway at 260 kph, with footage taken directly from the driver’s perspective."
They added that such behaviour conflicts with the "responsibility and sobriety required of those who lead a public company that manages a primary resource like water."
Minority councillor Lorenzo Maggi described the act as "post-adolescent boasting" and "an attitude of a rich woman," while Brothers of Italy councillor Giulia Baggi called it "a counter-educational and wrong message to send."
Codeluppi has said he was in Germany "on a road where there are no restrictions."
Critics have pointed out that holding a mobile phone while driving is not permitted in any European country.
