This is the moment a construction drill rig falls onto a street and almost hits pedestrians and a car passing by underneath.
The incident happened in the Santa Cecilia district of downtown Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Tuesday, 26th August, at a construction site operated by the company You Inc.
Security camera footage shows the drill rig collapsing onto the road as pedestrians, including children, move away to avoid being hit.
A black car pulling out of a parking space brakes sharply and narrowly avoids being struck as the equipment topples across the street and partially blocks traffic in the area.
According to Sao Paulo's Public Security Secretariat, the equipment was a "continuous propeller C" drill that destabilised during excavation work.
Civil Defence and CET (Traffic Engineering Company) teams attended the scene.
The case was registered at the 77th Santa Cecilia Police District as a danger to the life or health of others.
Police said they would investigate whether safety and hygiene standards had been breached.
In a statement, You Inc. said: “This morning an incident occurred with drill equipment at a construction site located on Rua Jaguaribe.
"Fortunately, there were no injuries or property damage.
"The construction company responsible for executing the work immediately took all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the surrounding area and local traffic.
"At this time, the company is investigating the causes of the incident to determine the appropriate measures."
The company added: "You Inc. reiterates its commitment to best construction practices and the safety of the community surrounding its projects.
"All necessary preventive and corrective measures are being adopted with the highest priority."
Traffic in the area was diverted until the drill rig was removed and the road cleared.
