This is the moment a man sitting on a bench bursts into flames after lighting a cigarette and is so drunk he just sits there as the flames engulf him.
The incident happened in the 47th complex of Naberezhnye Chelny in Tatarstan, Russia. The video was posted online on 25th August.
Surveillance footage shows the man sitting with a companion before flames suddenly spread across his jacket.
The other man gets up and staggers away while the victim stays seated with his clothes burning.
Smouldering patches first appear on his outerwear before fire quickly engulfs him.
A cyclist goes by without intervening but flags a driver who stops his car and seems to be trying to find a fire extinguisher before he runs over with a blanket.
He beats down the flames and calls emergency services.
The man suffered second- and third-degree burns over large parts of his body.
He was taken to the intensive care unit of Naberezhnye Chelny Emergency Hospital.
Doctors say he remains in serious condition and are continuing treatment.
