This is the moment two teenagers draped in bedsheets with holes cut for their eyes stole a television from a laundromat before one of them was handed in to police by his father after being identified from security footage.
The robbery happened at a 24-hour self-service laundry in downtown Porto Seguro, in the state of Bahia, Brazil, at around 3:20am on 11th August.
The 17-year-old was taken to the police station by his father on 13th August after investigators matched him to the crime.
Security footage shows the pair wandering around the laundromat with sheets covering their bodies and faces before one of them struggles to remove the TV from the wall while the other waits outside. They then flee with the set.
According to police, the teenager admitted the TV had been exchanged for drugs.
Officers said he was identified through analysis of the video and cross-checking of information before his father brought him in.
He was questioned, and a detailed police report was filed against him for theft.
He was released after giving a statement because he was outside the period for being caught in the act.
The youth told investigators that his accomplice, known as 'Gaita', is still at large.
Police said the teenager has a history of involvement in other thefts in Porto Seguro and Eunapolis and has previously been held in Salvador.
Searches and testimonies are continuing as the investigation remains open.
