An Israeli couple who survived the Hamas massacre have told how they were turned away from a campsite in Austria after the owner saw their passports.

Nissan and Lee De-Kalo were reportedly thrown off the site near the border with Germany when they presented their Israeli documents.

Shocked 48-year-old Nissan told Austrian media: "The man at the campsite was very nice at first, assigned us a spot, and joked with my wife.

"Only when he saw our passports did we have to leave the area."

He added: "It was the first time I personally experienced anti-Semitism in Europe. It was very offensive."

The couple had been on a road trip around Europe, recovering from the Hamas bloodbath at their kibbutz on 7th October 2023.

Nissan had fought off the heavily armed invaders for 13 hours to protect his 47-year-old wife, Lee, and their two children.

Nissan said: "I still want to believe that people are just people who get up in the morning, go to work, raise their children, and want to give them the best education and gifts.

"And I want to believe that the people on the other side of the border feel the same way I do. But 7th October really broke me."

The camping ban comes after a Viennese pizzeria refused to serve a group of Israeli classical musicians because they were speaking Hebrew.

And on 26th July, pro-Palestinian activists burst into the opening of the Salzburg Festival, one of the world’s premier cultural events.

As Austrian Vice-Chancellor Andreas Babler began his opening speech, they stormed the stage, shouting: "Blood on your hands!"

At least 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led 7th October 2023 attacks, and more than 200 were taken captive.

Israeli forces have killed at least 60,034 Palestinians since the Gaza War erupted in October 2023, according to Gaza's Ministry of Health.
