This footage shows the rich kid son of a wealthy businessman intentionally reversing into an elderly man after knocking him off his scooter while driving at speed on the wrong side of the road.
The driver has been named as Manan Anand, 20, the son of a wealthy local businessman named as Rajinder Anand.
He can be seen in the footage hitting Kamalkant Dutta, 68, twice in Jammu, in Kashmir, India, at around 1:30 pm on the afternoon of Sunday, 27th July.
The video, recorded on a CCTV camera, shows Anand driving a dark 4WD and overtaking cars on the road at speed when he hits the OAP, who was coming the other way.
The OAP falls to the ground after his scooter is hit and after he gets back to his feet, the motorist, instead of getting out to apologise or help, reverses his large car at speed and hits Dutta.
The oap is knocked onto his back and hits his head on the tarmac.
Anand gets out of the car and walks over to the OAP accompanied by a passenger.
The pair then get back in the car and Anand simply drives off, leaving Dutta to his fate.
Dutta was taken to hospital, where he is fighting for his life and in critical condition.
Anand has gone on the run and despite multiple raids over the last two days, he has not yet been arrested.
The Jammu police said on Tuesday: "As per initial information received from a reliable source, a Mahindra Thar bearing Jammu registration number being driven in a rash and negligent manner from Gandhi Nagar towards Green Belt Park, collided with a scooty near Allora Textiles, Green Belt Park, at approximately 1.30pm. The scooty, which was coming from the opposite direction, was struck by the Thar, resulting in injuries to the rider.
"The injured individual was shifted to GMC Jammu by passers-by, while the Thar driver fled from the spot."
The vehicle has reportedly been seized.
The police said that the owner of the vehicle, the accused’s father, has been detained for questioning, and a manhunt is underway to track down and arrest the driver.
