A gay dodgeball game designed to promote tolerance and respect turned into a mass punch-up when players launched into a pitched battle on the court.
The fight began during the so-called 'gaymada' at the Antonio Piola Gymnasium in the city of Manaus, Brazil, on Sunday, 17th August.
Footage shows the moment one player charges at another and starts throwing punches.
Other players rush in, with some trying to separate them while others join the fight, escalating the chaos and forcing the game to stop.
Witnesses said the argument started between two participants before spreading to involve players from both rival teams.
One spectator posted online: "Man, that was crazy!"
The exact cause of the disagreement has not yet been made public.
Organisers of the event have not issued an official statement.
Gaymada is an inclusive version of dodgeball created by the LGBTQIAPN+ community to promote diversity, coexistence, and the fight against intolerance. Its name is a play on the words 'gay' and 'queimada', which is Portuguese for dodgeball.
