This is the moment two uniformed police officers were caught on camera apparently engaging in a sex act inside a new patrol car with its emergency lights flashing in full view of the public.
The incident took place in Mexico City, Mexico, and was confirmed by the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) in a statement on 5th August.
The two-minute video, seemingly filmed from behind a fence or a window, shows the pair in the front seats of the new police vehicle, with the female officer in the passenger seat and the male officer in the driver’s seat performing a sexual act while the car is parked with its lights on.
The SSC confirmed the footage was authentic and said an internal administrative investigation had been opened by the General Directorate of Internal Affairs.
Both officers have been identified and will be summoned to give their statements.
Officials said the act constitutes misuse of public resources and a violation of police conduct codes.
The SSC stressed that the case will be handled by the Honour and Justice Council, which may impose sanctions ranging from suspension to dismissal.
The patrol car involved was part of a fleet of 3,500 new units unveiled less than two weeks earlier, reportedly costing more than MXN 7.46 billion (GBP 298 million), and featuring new markings identifying each unit’s sector and quadrant, which can be seen in the footage.
The SSC reiterated its zero-tolerance policy for behaviour that violates institutional principles or police protocol and confirmed that all such misconduct will be investigated and sanctioned.
