This is the moment an excavator is seen ‘swimming’ in the sea using its bucket like a paddle to move through the water without a driver in sight.
The bizarre scene was filmed near the port city of Dalian, China, and shared on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, on 24th July.
Footage shows the heavy machine gliding across the water with its bucket arm repeatedly pushing backwards to propel it forward.
The excavator is mounted on large pontoon-style floats, making it an amphibious model designed to operate in shallow water or swamp conditions without sinking.
Online viewers described it as "the origin of the fighter jet in the excavator," while another added: "Located in Dalian, saw an excavator swimming in the sea… sleepless night."
