A 21-year-old woman who vanished after going to a party was found dead in the backyard of a home after her family began receiving disturbing messages saying she was buried there.
The body of Danna Angelina Munoz Rayon was discovered in the early hours of Tuesday, 19th August 2025, buried in the garden of a property in Chihuahua, Mexico.
She had last been seen on Saturday, 17th August, when she went out with friends and did not return home.
Her disappearance triggered a search by relatives and friends, who later received anonymous messages on social media claiming she was no longer alive and naming the address where her remains would be found.
On Monday, relatives and supporters gathered outside the house, demanding that investigators enter and warning they would go in themselves if authorities did not act.
Later that night, officials obtained a warrant, searched the property and confirmed the suspicions when they uncovered her body buried in the backyard.
The remains were transferred to the Forensic Medical Service for an autopsy. Prosecutor Cesar Jáuregui Moreno confirmed that a full investigation had begun.
Preliminary findings suggested Danna had died from stab wounds at around six in the morning on Sunday, 17th August.
By Tuesday, two women had been arrested on suspicion of links to those responsible for the killing, though not directly accused of carrying out the attack.
Unofficial reports said the house had been rented for about four months by three young men and that a party had been held there the same weekend Danna disappeared.
Friends and acquaintances later filled her Facebook page with farewell messages, recalling her as a young mother with plans and dreams that would now never be achieved.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify all of those involved in Danna’s killing.
