This is the moment a businessman cheats death in a miraculous escape after a biker gunman fires at him from close range, with the shot tearing through his shirt near his heart but without causing injury.
The incident took place in the city of Ribeirao Preto, Sao Paulo state, south-eastern Brazil, on 30th May.
CCTV footage shows the biker walking towards the deck area where customers are seated and pulling out a firearm.
The gunman fires at least one shot in the direction of Regino Pinto Neto, who is wearing a white T-shirt and drinking coffee with a friend at the time.
Regino later said: "I arrived 15 minutes earlier to have coffee with a friend. Out of nowhere a man arrived with a gun, pointed it at me and fired. He did not say anything. When I heard someone shout behind me I jumped when I saw the weapon.
"The bullet went straight through my shirt towards my heart from one side to the other. It did not hit me, but I was in shock not knowing if it was me."
Footage shows customers reacting in panic as the shot is fired near the seating area.
Regino falls to the ground during the chaos but is not injured and quickly runs inside the store with other customers.
People inside the convenience store are seen fleeing as tables are knocked over and confusion spreads.
Inside the store, Regino said: "Inside the convenience store there was chaos, everyone falling and tables going over. I ran inside. At one point people were saying someone had been killed and I did not even know if the shot was aimed at me. I even started hitting myself asking: did I die and is my body outside?"
Regino later said he believed surviving the shooting amounted to a second chance.
He said: "This is a second chance. I have been reborn. I hope the police solve this case and bring answers. It is something very inhumane."
The case has been registered as attempted murder and is being investigated by the Civil Police in Ribeirao Preto.
A statement from the Public Security Secretariat confirmed that forensic teams were called and the inquiry is being handled by the 2nd Police District.
The suspect fled the scene on the motorcycle and has not yet been identified.
Police said the motive remains unknown, although Regino suggested his social work may have caused disputes, while stating he had no debts or employment issues.
